I'm presuming you accept my proposed bet since you're still complaining. Let me know if you didn't see the proposal so I can post it here.

Commercial realty is an investment. Rental properties are a revenue source. The idea that the family  house is or will again be an investment in an country with constant outsourcing and everchanging manufacturing bases is pure fantasy. I'll remind you of anything else you're wrong about until you accept my bet or stop imitating Val on her worst day.

I appologize for the previous trade offer... some of the players I got in return actually might have been able to get out of their wheel chair and take the mound or swing a bat...

This is much more reasonable... I am sure Ryan Howard will be protected by a glock or some South Philly Italians so this is a fair deal

The fact that you keep ignoring what we're saying proves you at least are entertaining the idea that you're wrong. My offer still stands. React as poorly as you like. It's cool. My mom's Type 1 bipolar. I'm used to the mindset.

The beauty of categorical leagues is that I can sit Verlander vs the Pirates today so I can enjoy myself at the ballpark. I want to watch greatness in action AND not have mixed feelings if the Pirates start smacking said greatness around. I'm dominating the pitching half @ESPN so it will not affect the outcome.

Well will you looky here!  It seems to me that I'm....ahead in the count!!

I whipped Dave's ass from pillar to post!  I loved how in the chatroom he said "I'm sticking that post so far up his rear that if it were a toothbrush he could brush his teeth" or "Poor Marty, he's gonna get a double dose of Dickey"

LOL.

Spare me son, there are no more heroes left in the world!

Good Monday Morning GB10, last quiet week for me before the start of yet another quarter-end close...YEAAAA!!!

So now we are down to just MLB now that the other two major sports outside of football have wrapped up their season...maybe I should have saved some of my wheeling and dealing for these dog days of summer. Foot in mouth

In a battle of two of the hottest teams in the league, I emerged victorious vs Austin by a whopping 73 points thanks in large part to balanced production (at least 10 points) from everyone of my starters not named Cliff Lee...hell even Mike Moustakas saved his week with a 2 HR performance yesterday.  I'm trying to remain patient with Lee because I know that he is so way overdue for a hot streak, but I must admit that he is not making it easy.  From my perspective his matchup this week vs a pathetic Marlins team is going to very likely determine whether I put him on the trade block or not.

we just observed first hand what happens when players collude to upset the competitve balance with the Miami Heat

So Dave thinks that I somehow put a gun to Frank's head to acquire Jose Bautista and company...whatever...I simply don't have the time or desire to try and rationalize with someone who has already made up his warped mind.

I agree with this statement except for the fact that it was exceptional GMs that put these teams together, not the players.

This is outstanding. People that hate the Heat will repeat this even though it's the same line of logic that would be used to laud the Yankees or the Red Sox.

I think most fair-minded people would agree that not having any form of a league salary cap and players deciding to team up to form these "Super Powers" are both bad for the competitive balance of the entire league.  The difference is that MLB is moving towards trying to change their competitive structure (think it will be effective beginning in 2014) while the NBA is really doing no such thing.

I don't think you can easily compare MLB to the other major professional sports leagues from a competitive standpoint...especially in the distant past.  The other professional leagues outside of MLB have tried their best to create a competitive balance by instituting some sort of salary cap that trys to prevent the large market teams from absolutely dominating the sport for decades while baseball has sought to do no such thing until just recently.

Over the years some small market teams like the A's, Twins, Rays, Diamondbacks and a few others with relatively shallow pockets have proven that it is possible to compete with the large market Giants like the Angels, Yankees, Red Sox, and recently the Phillies over a short period of time, but in the end just as their teams are reaching the pinnacle of their success, they are pilfered by teams with more money to spend.

My point is that what a lack of a salary cap in MLB has allowed large market teams to overcome that their small market bretheran can't is the poor personnel decisions and unforeseen injuries that strike every team at some point in time regardless of their location.

Fortunately for the fans of small market teams, those times might be finally coming to a close.

I love how you scooped up Everth Cabrera off waivers.  It was my intention to drop him but based on your analysis from the other night, he wasn't worth a squirt of piss.  I'm sure you are using him for his steals potential and some games in Colorado.

Still, I think you are a shiesty SOB lol.  No morals or scruples whatsoever....

I remember the league home page used to inform you when the roster would lock, where is that information now?

And who would you start at SS,  Trevor Plouffe or Rafael Furcal?

It was between Everth and Ian Desmond for best available SS...I've had Desmond before and he drove me crazy to the point I honestly said never again so the choice was easy.  That being said, in comparison to the other players on your roster that you were considering dropping, he was the most logical choice...especially once you scooped up Rafael Furcal...greedy SOB

I remember the league home page used to inform you when the roster would lock, where is that information now?

I think that feature was only in the NFL leagues, but agree that is a nice thing to know...no afternoon games today so rosters will lock around 7:00pm

And who would you start at SS,  Trevor Plouffe or Rafael Furcal?

Since both have 6 potential starts this week and not the ideal 7, to me it should come down to matchups...6 home games for Plouffe against the White Sox and Royals sounds very tempting, but it's not like Furcal's matchup at the Marlins and homes vs the Pirates is exactly going to scare anyone off.  Excluding last week, Plouffe has been the better performer for the last full month, but then again maybe I'm just trying to use another jedi mind trick on you...lol

To be honest if I was really the slim shady you are trying to portray me as, I would have talked you out of adding Furcal so I could have him for myself, but no worries...Everth will be more than adequate for the time being.
