I agree with you 100% Cowboy.  These same guys would be singing his praises and predicting 20 wins for him if he had been traded to one of their teams.  It is definitely their fear of not making the playoffs that drives them.

Good news Tigers fans, but the looks of the demographics of all of the strongest doubters of Dontrelle Willis, the Yankees and Red Sox fans are really threatened by the team Detroit has put together.
Yes i know. the nerve of the Tigers ownership and fans to actually increase payroll to a level at which we compete with the Yankees , Red Sox and other big market teams . LOL . There sure is a lot of angst being sent towards the Tigers this spring. Oh well. Time to get back to packing, heading down to Florida this weekend.

i think he will be more like the guy that won 22 games and had an era of 2.99 not the guy that has struggled for the worst and youngest teams in the last couple years. he has always pitched good in the post season he is a great team ate wants the ball every fifth day no matter the situtation. he could have gone on the dl a few different times over that span due to the slight forearm sprain but know his team needed him out there and he was setting a good example for all the younger guys on the pitching staff

Dontrelle is overrated and overpaid.  I don't care if he pitched for the best team in the league every year he still has some pretty weak stuff.  He will be rocked come the second half of the year, if it doesn't happen right off the bat it will happen eventually.

Pitchers don't get better going from the National league to the American league.  Ok, throw out last.  You still need to add a run to a run and a half to his era.  Look at Roger Clemens.  His ERA was between 4.5-5 before he went to the Astros.  Then 2-3 years with and ERA  under three. Back in the AL East, he went back to a 4.3-4.5 range.   What happended to Becket that first year?  ERA of 5 (OK, he got a little better that second year but his era is still well above his Marlin days I think) Dontrell will win alot of games because the Tiger will vie with the Yankees for the most runs scored but he era won't be low and he will lose alot of games against better pitchers.  And it has been more than one year that his skills seem to be eroding. Infield defense will be a key and I think Detroits is substandard.

he will do fine he will not have to carry the team on his shoulders like the last 2 yrs . he will also have a lot of run support . he'll be a 14 game winner .

And it has been more than one year that his skills seem to be eroding.

Skill seems to be eroding? Did you forget he's only 26 years old and has only been in the league for 5 years? Why would he be getter worse? Everyone has a bad year or two, but when they haven't even reached their prime, their skills are not "eroding" as you put it.

He will be improved and much better this year. He will get back to the old D-Train soon enough, and I'm happy for him to do it on the Tigers.

So Willis will be the 2nd best starter on the team?  If he is actually the 2nd best on the team, then we'll be seeing the Indians in the playoffs and the Yankee with the WC.

Have you ever seen Bautista pitch?  He is terrible.  Detroit will be his 4th organization in 5 years.  He's had potential everywhere he's been, but if you cant throw strikes or miss a few bats, you suck.  And he sucks.

aight fellas, im from michigan and what weve seen the last 2 yrs wont be what we see this year. d-train will have the catcher he had when he was a rookie, chuck hernandez (Tigers pitchin coach) will help him out alot, and the fans in michigan already love him which will help him out big time.

D-TRAIN= 15-8 4.05era

tigers offense will help him out too
