I hardly think Belotti is looking to get his 4th QB injured against a team that they could beat in their sleep. So according to my calculations, since 1996: BSU has played exactly 7 non-conference teams ranked in the final polls.
Since 1996: BYU has played exactly 16 non-conference teams ranked in the final polls.
Now, if you exclude bowl games and just calculate how many ranked teams each have actually scheduled since 1996: BSU has played 3 non-conference ranked teams and BYU has played 11 non-conference ranked teams.
Considering that BYU has played significantly more ranked teams in-conference since 1996 than BSU has, I'll let you braniacs (Pud, Toadie, Cran) put it together and decide exactly which program is "playing up" and which one seems to be getting fat on a bunch of garbage.

2. I haven't ignored the fact that Moore had a great game. However, it seems that you are choosing to ignore the fact that Moore was tabbed the starter in camp and has been taking snaps with the 1st team for months now. He also had 2 D1 starts under his belt coming in. Oregon's QB on the other hand, began taking significant practice snaps the week of the game and had 0 D1 starts under his belt. That's a tough thing to ask of any 3rd string QB.
3. I bring up Washington because you seem to want to nitpick on the fact that BYu barely escaped a bad Washington team. I'm merely pointing out that we at least won that game, unlike BSU when they played a bad Washington team.

There is hope though. I will be going to Dallas/Austin in a couple weeks. I'll be attending the BYU-TCU, Texas-Misssouri, and a little Texas HS football on Friday. That should put me in a good mood.
